Early Sharpie craze. Done immediately before this. I'm assuming this is a self-portrait if this is any indicator. The good ol' mouth on the head seems to be a definite self-reference, although I don't seem to have sad, square eyes or a hand-vagina. Eh, nobody's perfect.
This is where it all began. For my latest efforts, check out my new official site at FuzzySkeletonian.com!

you and me and the OPG
One of the many things I learned from my father is this: If you want to get something done you start by promising that you'll do it. Then you stagger out into the garage, drink some more and pass out, sitting in front of the wood burning stove. Mission accomplished.
Having grown up in that kind of inspirational environment it's not hard to see why I started planning my Octoberween-Palooza-Ganza in December. As I am unaccustomed to actually accomplishing goals I figure the earlier I start, the better. If I accomplish only one thing this year, it's going to be my OPG.
So far, I've just let my mind wander on the subject, waiting to see what occurs to me. One of the thoughts that keeps floating around in my brain is the idea of original art giveaways. Specifically, something like this:
(ADULT CONTENT BELOW)
Actual size 5.5" x 7.5" on 90lb. watercolor paper and more detailed than what the scan shows.
Behold the power of my fine-tip Japanese markers! I also used a red Sharpie and some red watercolor paint for that added zing. To get to the point, would you guys actually want something like this?
I'm thinking I might've hit upon something kinda neat but it never hurts to get some feedback. Anyway, gimme a shout when you have a minute. Thanks.

the maxx and radiationitis
Well, I'm thinkin' I better get my art on before the radiation spreads and kills us all so here's some past pencil pushin' for all ya'lls. This is some pre-Sharpie craze stuff from almost 10 years ago. I'm thinkin' there's some influences from when the MTV showed the animated cartoon version of The Maxx all those many years ago. I'm guessin' the teethy little Isz had something to do with what you see above.
Seriously though, folks. If any of you start to come down with the radiationitis let me know and I'll start my Octoberween-Palooza-Ganza early. Likewise, if I'm the first to come down with it, I'll do my best to launch the event myself and crank out as much art as I can before my arms fall off.

searching for direction
Here's a quickie with more of my brush markers. Seems I've drawn similar figures like this before. One hand raised, one hand pointing. Maybe they're trying to tell me something.

scary eyes
As I was getting close to done I started to get freaked out by the eyes. Not sure why really, it was just a general feeling of uneasiness. It got so bad I had to cover the eyes while I finished up. Sounds silly, I know, but that's what happened. I know I've been procrastinating a lot lately. Maybe I'm afraid of something and I'm just making up excuses to avoid my artwork.

bloody marvelous!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while but that's all I'm gonna say. The whining is over. When life hits you, you gotta suck it up and hit right back.
Here's a quickie I did on a piece of printer paper with some brush markers. Fun stuff. I'm totally loving brush markers! You can see it in my happy, bloody face. I'm lovin' the blood lately. I'm hoping to have a huge bloody year here at Vincent's Handmade Art. Bring your umbrella : )
